He sounds kind of stuffy, whether he was sick or it was his cocaine habit i don't know. Interesting to see him using his notes. When I saw him last October he was working out new material and had his notes.

February 25, 1967 - The Hollywood PalaceThis is a clip of George before he found himself, before he developed the routines that we'd all come to know. This is the Carlin that put on a face for the public, before letting his hair out, and growing the beard. The material was pretty tame by today's standards, but is still good stuff.
This routine reminds me a lot of his "Indian Sargeant" bit.
